News clip: Richmond Oval

From speed skating Mecca to the worlds largest continues sports floor

The Richmond Olympic Oval is a breathtaking venue on the banks of the Fraser River, 14 kilometres south of downtown Vancouver, and winner of the Institution of Structural Engineers top award for Sports or Leisure Structures.

Home to long track speed skating during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, the Oval re-opened to public programming April 1, 2010. The facility’s Olympic Legacy conversion is scheduled for completion by the summer of 2010 and will offer an inspiring environment for all ages and skill levels to progress toward their own personal podiums.

The video shows how the speed skating venue is transformed to the worlds largest continues sports floor. Weelbarrow by weelbarrow the Pulastic SP sports floor was installed and after two months of hard work, the Richmond Oval reopened its doors in august 2010. The Olympic legacy will live on.
